Ronnie McDowell In Concert                Posted 3/16/09

Good Morning George,
I want to tell you how much we enjoyed the Ronnie McDowell concert Saturday night.  I really enjoyed your singing; what a beautiful voice.  I had whispered to my husband that you sang with so much emotion.  I would have enjoyed hearing more of you.  Ronnie McDowell certainly did not disappoint us.  He was terrific.  We missed the 1st annual Ronnie McDowell concert.  We don't want to miss anymore so I hope we can keep informed.  I'm glad I saw it advertised in the Granville Arts Center ad in the Dallas Morning News and their newsletter.  It will be wonderful if you bring to our area music artists as you mentioned to me on the phone, Lorrie Morgan, Doug Stone, T. Graham Brown, Eddy Raven, etc.  We didn't get to meet you personally at the concert - but we sure appreciate you.  Thanks, Nora and Eddy (W.E.) Cogburn

Thanks, I hope to meet y'all at the next show. I thought Ronnie did a great job too-George Dickerson

Hi George,

The concert was the absolute highlight of my year, thanks to YOU.  I am SOOO glad that you brought Ronnie back to this area.  Secondly, when you sang "Who Did They Think He Was", I just got goose bumps.  It was BEAUTIFUL.

God Bless you for letting Rod Sager and myself go back stage to visit with Ronnie.  We have both been fans forever and it was just a real treat to get to talk to him one on one.  I don't think I've ever met a more gracious entertainer than Ronnie.  He just totally seems to ENJOY what he does, and his PATIENCE with his fans is incredible. He was so kind to stay there until every single person there got an autograph, picture, CD, etc. Now that's genuine kindness.  I've been at concerts where they perform and boom they are on the bus, GONE, no interaction with the crowd.   I know people will send you tons of pictures but I got some pretty good ones myself and I'm so glad.  I would love to share them with you but I don't know if you got the other ones I sent you last week, from last year.  I know you are a busy man looking through TONS of e-mails, but I did wonder if they reached you.

The fellow from Killeen who sat with us, Rod, will leave for Iraq at the end of this week.  This concert for him was the best SEND OFF he could have gotten, and he gave me a quick hug after the visit with Ronnie back stage, and said thank you SOOOOO much for arranging that.  He should have been hugging YOU George, because YOU made it possible.  He will have some good pictures to keep forever.  He had just gotten off an airplane coming from Vegas seeing his children one last time, and got to Dallas just in time to get to the Plaza.  Judy and I got a little lost but thank heavens we were there by 6:20.  She wanted to use her map quest map, well, I think maybe Yahoo Maps way of getting there would have been better.  I don't drive there so I'm just grateful we made it.

A SPECIAL thank you to you George for being so kind  to let me have my picture with you also, and for the beautiful pink rose.     It is in a pretty green vase in the middle of my table and I am enjoying it each and every day.  I will save the George Dickerson autograph and put it in my scrapbook with all of my concert treasures.  I had Ronnie sign the poster you gave me also.  That was such a nice poster, thanks a BUNCH.  It is on such nice paper and I will probably frame it and put in on a wall near the Elvis as a little boy print that I bought at the concert last year.  I had never had anything framed before, but I had it framed and it turned out nice.  Remember next year George, I meant what I said, I WILL be glad to put up posters in the Denton area for you for next years concert.  I SHOULD have mentioned that this year, but I thought maybe you'd put it in the Denton Record Chronicle.

I will be anxiously awaiting the two DVD's that I ordered.  That fellow was definitely a BUSY man that night.  I got one of the DVD's as a going away gift for Rod.  We have been e-mailing since last years concert, and he wanted me to let him know when the next concert was going to be so I did.  I told him, you CAN'T go to Iraq for FIVE years, look at all the Ronnie McDowell concerts you will miss!  I said he will need to coincide his once a year vacation back here to be the same time as Ronnie's concert next year.  Well, that may be hard for him as his parents are in Texas, and his children are in Vegas so time may not allow that.  Anyway, he will have THIS concert to watch over and over, while overseas, thanks to YOU for getting it videotaped.

Welll, I don't know what other words to say besides THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for everything you did to make our concert experience so SPECIAL.  Your thoughtfulness will long be remembered.

I do hope I can find someone to take me to your concert in Sherman in June.  If I can swing it, I'll be calling you for tickets.   David Allen was also good, and I have a great picture with him too.  The young boy that sang, WOW, he really has the moves down pat.

Oh George, I know you must be SOOOOOO EXHAUSTED after this past week.  Are you still going up to Red Boiling Springs?  HOW NEAT IS THAT!!!  The line up sounds like a good one.  What a FUN experience for you, and what a COOL way to spend Spring Break!!

Thanks for your calls, for playing the song you were going to sing ("Who DId They Think He Was" for me.   I KNEW the audience would LOVE it, and they DID!!!

I am excited about Ronnie's newest CD.  If that song that he sang doesn't MELT some hearts, then I don't know what will.  I look forward to it coming out in the Spring.  He has a little bit of it on his web site, just a teaser, enough to make you DEFINITELY want to go buy the CD when it is released.  I'll bet George Dickerson could do a good job singing that song too.

Again, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU GEORGE and GOD BLESS YOU!!!
